Practice makes perfect

I am originally from Wales, which is one of the four countries in the United Kingdom (the UK).

I have been living in Japan for almost 15 years and have previously lived in different cities in the UK, London, Manchester, Cardiff and Swansea, and I also lived in Perth, West Australia for a short time.

I used to teach English and judo at high schools in Gifu prefecture but have been working at universities in Nagoya for almost ten years now and have been at Sugiyama Jogakuen University since 2019.

I love playing music, particularly the bass guitar and play in a band with other university teachers from Nagoya.

I have always played various sports, but my favourites are rugby and football (soccer) and have played both in Nagoya for a few different teams. I also love martial arts and have black belts in jiu-jitsu, judo and aikido.

There are many similarities between sports, music and learning languages.

You need to practice regularly, and it takes time to become proficient, you will make mistakes along the way, but it is important to learn from these and keep on going.
